Portrait of Dr. Ibiyinka Ladapo

INTRODUCTION

Medicine Grounded in Knowledge & Collaboration.

Dr. Ibiyinka is a double board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine specializing in comprehensive, adult cardiometabolic care. Her clinical practice focuses on the prevention, management, and reversal of chronic metabolic conditions—including hypertension, dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD/fatty liver). Dedicated to physician-led weight management and preventive health, she moves beyond generic advice to deliver precise, highly tailored medical strategies designed around each patient's unique biology and lifestyle.

A Foundation Built on Science & Public Health

Dr. Ibiyinka earned her medical degree in Lagos, Nigeria, before pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH). She completed rigorous residency training in Internal Medicine and spent years serving as an inpatient hospitalist, managing acutely ill patients with complex, advanced medical conditions. Realizing the profound impact of early intervention, she expanded her expertise with board certification in Obesity Medicine, shifting her focus to outpatient care to stop chronic disease before it starts.

Academic Excellence & Leadership

In addition to direct patient care, Dr. Ibiyinka serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine, training and inspiring the next generation of physicians. She actively leads within the medical community as Co-Chair for Women in Medicine and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for the Texas Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP), while maintaining a dedicated mentorship practice for early-career doctors.

“I believe true medicine should never be one-size-fits-all. My goal is to combine current, peer-reviewed clinical research with deep empathy, meeting patients where they are to restore their vitality. I don't just want my patients to manage chronic conditions—I want them to thrive.”

Care Philosophy

When she is not practicing medicine or teaching, Dr. Ibiyinka lives in Texas with her family, enjoying quality time with friends, staying active, and continually preparing for the next professional challenge.
